Finding History in the Bible

What is Christianity, and when did it begin? This website gives the answers, not as mere Christianity—as a belief or in terms of symbols of Christianity today—but as a subject of legitimate scientific history, history about Christianity! Scientific history is based on sound evidence fairly considered, not on previous assumptions and special pleas. Looking at the beginning of Christianity, the gospel evidence is examined in context. The gospel stories make perfect historic sense, without any special pleas or divine intervention. The founder of Christianity, Jesus, was a Jewish martyr, declared a gentile god and rejected by his own people, for whom he had given his life. The question of early Christianity, its rise and spread, and its relationship with the Hellenistic mysteries and Paganism are also examined. Christian believers were not pious Jews, but were Hellenized Jews. The conflict with heresy is dealt with in its own section. It will make any Christian cross, but Christianity is anything but divine, and Christians have been anything but good. It is still a religion of liars, cruel torturers and murderers. In the light of the history of Christianity, no one with an ounce of humanity could be one.

The spontaneous remission rate of all cancers, lumped together, is estimated to be something between one in ten thousand and one in a hundred thousand. If no more than five per cent of the 100 million who have come to Lourdes since 1858 were there to treat their cancers, there should have been something between fifty and 500 cures of cancer from spontaneous remission and therefore seeming miraculous. The total of miraculous cures accepted by the Church is about a hundred, and cancers are only about five percent of them, so the rate of spontaneous remission of cancer at Lourdes seems to be lower than if the patients had stayed at home.

Fundamentalist Christians argue that not to make every effort to save a premature child is to condemn it to die. Why then did God let the child be born premature in the first place? Nature is showing the child is not viable as a living human being. Paediatrician and ethicist Richard Nicholson says two thirds of premature infants born at less than 26 weeks die, and of those that live, two thirds suffer serious irreversible brain damage. Only one in ten of premature babies under 26 weeks has a chance of a normal life. Electroencephalograms (EEG) show their brains scarcely work, functioning connections between brain cells mostly developing from 24 to 32 weeks of pregnancy. Infants born before 26 weeks rarely develop normal brains. “Let the infant die now before its brain begins to function,” is Nature’s message. She is being kind, but God’s deranged followers are Satanic, persisting in torturing a defenceless foetus. Parents of premature children ought to be told the truth, and not given false hope by parsons or by doctors.
