16. Involuntary Crimes of Love

The key work here is Sophocles’ Oedipus which stands out among many other works on the same subject. Once the crime is revealed to the committer his state of mind is akin to that of Madness. Many of the trappings of Crimes of Love pertain.

Unwitting adultery by an unmarried party must be quite common but no less distressing for some when revealed. Once less common but now not quite so unusual, especially in some parts of the world, is to find the sex of the beloved is not what it seemed!
